Information We Collect
Account Information
When you sign up, we collect:
- Your email address
- Password (stored securely)
- Profile information you choose to provide (position, location, playing history, etc.)
Messages
We store contact requests submitted through Skouto between players, scouts, and clubs so they can be reviewed and processed. These requests may be visible to the sender, relevant admins, and, once appropriate, the intended recipient.
Uploaded Images & Files
Photos and videos you upload are stored securely and used only within the app.
Public Posts on Social Media
We may occasionally share selected player availability posts on our X account to help them get seen by clubs. These posts only include information you have made public on your profile.
Product Analytics Data
We use PostHog to understand how people use Skouto so we can improve the app. This may include your account ID, email address, role, product activity events, and the product pages you visit.
How We Use Your Information
We use your data to:
- Provide and secure your account
- Enable messaging between players and clubs
- Help players get discovered and clubs find the right talent
- Improve Skouto based on product usage trends
We never sell your personal data or use it for third-party advertising or ad targeting. If we promote public player availability externally, we only use information the user has chosen to make public.
Data Storage & Security
- Personal data and contact request data are stored in our database.
- Uploaded files are stored securely using AWS.
- Access is restricted to authorised personnel only.
- We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information.
Analytics
We use PostHog for product analytics to understand how logged-in users interact with Skouto and to improve the Service. We may send limited account and usage data to PostHog, including account ID, email address, role, product activity events, and page paths.
We do not use analytics cookies for tracking. However, we do use essential cookies for authentication, session security, and account flows.
We do not use product analytics for third-party advertising or ad targeting.
Data Retention
- We keep your account data and contact request records while your account is active.
- You can delete your account at any time to remove all associated data.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct or delete your information
- Withdraw consent
- Request data export
- File a complaint with a data protection authority
