How Skouto Is Helping Women Find Football Teams in the UK

How Skouto is helping women find football teams in the UK

Finding the right women’s football team can still take more effort than it should. Opportunities are often spread across club websites, social media posts and local groups, making it difficult for players to see what is available in one place.

We created Skouto to make grassroots football opportunities easier to discover. Our dedicated women’s football trials page brings current trials, open training sessions and player openings together so women can search for suitable opportunities and contact the organiser directly.

Women’s trials are available to browse now. We are also planning to bring women’s player profiles, club discovery and recruitment tools into the existing Skouto app. Women players and women’s clubs can register their email interest to receive updates as this part of the platform develops.

Find women’s football trials in one place

Our women’s trials page is designed for players searching for open opportunities across the UK. You can browse the page without creating an account and look through the available listings by location.

Each listing can include useful details such as:

  • The club or team
  • The location
  • The relevant age group
  • Positions wanted
  • Playing level
  • Trial, training or application details
  • The organiser’s available contact methods

The information included will vary between listings, so players should read the full details and confirm arrangements directly with the organiser before attending or paying any fee.

Listings also change as clubs recruit and prepare for new seasons. If there is nothing suitable near you today, it is worth checking the page again as new opportunities are added.

How to use the women’s trials page

Start by visiting our women’s football trials UK page and checking the opportunities closest to you. Open a listing to see its requirements, location and contact options.

Before contacting the organiser, check that the age group, level and travel distance suit you. A short first message can include:

  • Your name and age
  • Your preferred position
  • Your current or most recent playing level
  • Your location
  • Your availability
  • A link to recent footage, if you have it

You do not need to write a long football CV. Clear and relevant information makes it easier for the organiser to understand whether the opportunity may be suitable.

A listing is an invitation to enquire or apply. It does not guarantee a trial, team place or response, and clubs make their own recruitment decisions.

Helping women find teams beyond social media

Social media groups remain useful in grassroots football, but posts can quickly disappear down a feed. Players may also need to follow several groups before finding an opening in the right area.

Our aim is to give women looking for football teams a more focused place to begin their search. Instead of scanning unrelated posts, players can browse a page built specifically around women’s football opportunities.

Skouto does not select players or place them with clubs. We help make relevant opportunities easier to find and provide the details players need to take the next step themselves.

Recruiting women players?

Women’s clubs and teams can also use Skouto to reach players who are actively looking for opportunities.

If your team has a trial, open training session or player opening, email the details to us and we can review it for inclusion on our women’s trials page. Adding an eligible opening is free.

Include the club name, location, age group, playing level, positions wanted, dates and the contact method players should use. Clear information helps players decide whether the opportunity is relevant before they get in touch.

Visit the women’s trials page to view current listings and find the option for sending us an opening.

Bringing women’s football into the Skouto app

The trials page is available now, while the broader women’s experience in the Skouto app is planned for a future release.

We want women’s football to be part of the same Skouto platform rather than a separate app. The planned experience may include:

  • Women’s player profiles
  • Player discovery for women’s clubs and recruiters
  • Search tools based on location, position and playing level
  • Women’s club and team discovery
  • Recruitment openings and ways for players and clubs to connect

These app features are not live yet. Their final scope and release timing may change as we learn what women players and clubs need most.

Register your interest

We are collecting email registrations from women players and women’s football clubs interested in the planned app features.

Registering your interest means we can send you relevant updates as the women’s section develops. It also helps us understand the level of demand from players looking for teams and clubs looking for players.

Registering does not reserve a place, guarantee early access or guarantee that a player will find a club. It simply allows us to keep interested players and clubs informed.

You can find the women’s football email interest form on the Skouto homepage, alongside a link to browse women’s trials already available on the platform.

Preparing to contact a club

Once you find a suitable opportunity, a little preparation can make the first conversation easier.

Check the listing carefully and avoid asking questions that it already answers. Confirm the date, location, surface and any kit you need to bring. If the opportunity involves a fee, ask the organiser what it covers before committing.

When attending a trial or training session, bring suitable boots, shin pads and water. Arrive with enough time to introduce yourself and prepare properly. Clubs may assess technical ability, fitness, communication, attitude and how well you respond to instructions, although every club will have its own priorities.

For wider information about participation and facilities for women and girls, the Football Foundation provides guidance on opportunities and barriers across the game.
